Proof of company logo 2
Firstly I opened up photoshop and clicked the text icon and typed in our company name Then I cropped mine and bee's face and put it in the gaps and coloured in the other gaps black. Then I coloured in the background and used the stamp tool to create this effect

Here I choose the text I wanted and change the colour to add effect, as the typical colours of Film Noir Titles are black and white.

Final animatic
First animatic
First attempt at a story board from SCHS TV on Vimeo.
Basically this is our first animatic, the first story board we made weren't good enough so we made an animatic, unfortunatly due to not being able to acsess a bar we had to change our storyline around so this isn't our final story board!
Wildtrack
Firstly, why use wildtrack?
When only the sound is needed and not an image, when it's impossible to record the sound live, when the take is visually good but there is an interruptence sound wise, obtain room tone or to create a censored version.
-For similar reasons as a 'wild shot'
Foley is not the only option an editor could use, there's also:
Dubbing -Actors read their lines in a studio setting to match lip movements
Voice over -Where there's a voice track but isn't synchronized with on screen action
Scratch track - A tempoary sound recording intended to be replaced later

Film certificates
U -It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. But a ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. ‘U’ films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.
Parental guidance -General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children.Unaccompanied children of any age may watch. A ‘PG’ film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.
12/12A -Exactly the same criteria are used to classify works at ‘12A’ and ‘12’. These categories are awarded where the material is suitable, in general, only for those aged 12 and over. Works classified at these categories may upset children under 12 or contain material which many parents will find unsuitable for them. The ‘12A’ category exists only for cinema films. No one younger than 12 may see a ‘12A’ film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult, and films classified ‘12A’ are not recommended for a child below 12. An adult may take a younger child if, in their judgement, the film is suitable for that particular child. In such circumstances, responsibility for allowing a child under 12 to view lies with the accompanying adult. The ‘12’ category exists only for video works. No one younger than 12 may rent or buy a ‘12’ rated video work.
15 -No-one younger than 15 may see a ‘15’ film in a cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a ‘15’ rated video work.
18 -No-one younger than 18 may see an ‘18’ film in a cinema. No-one younger than 18 may rent or buy an ‘18’ rated video work.
R18 -To be shown only in specially licensed cinemas, or supplied only in licensed sex shops, and to adults of not less than 18 years. The ‘R18’ category is a special and legally restricted classification primarily for explicit works of consenting sex or strong fetish material involving adults. Films may only be shown to adults in specially licensed cinemas, and video works may be supplied to adults only in licensed sex shops. ‘R18’ videos may not be supplied by mail order.

2nd production meeting of the day
As Bianca and I took advantage of having a free timetable this morning ahead of todays lesson we were able to spend the day working on finishing our OTS.
After adding the music we wanted to make sure all the sound was fluid so we re-recorded some foleying as the macs were unable to upload some of the recordings we had before -due to permission issues. We re-recorded a few of Katherine's line, knocking on a door and a few of Dillans lines.

Bianca and I tried to upload our animatics to Vimeo -which is a video sharing site; so we could get our projects on to our blogs, but we came across some problems, firstly when we tried to upload the file, it was too large, so then we converted the file to decrease the size and then Vimeo claimed it was too small. We are now still searching for a solution to this problem as our animatics (story board) is an important addition to our planning process for our OTS. The only solution we can think of so far is buying a membership account so we can upload large files.

Production meeting (Backlog)
Me and Bianca are experiencing a few problems with the story line now we're editing it. Firstly it's far too long and doesn't fit in the with the maximum two and a half minutes we have to cut it down by. Also the story line has a lot of things going on and it's fairly hard to follow - it's more like a movie in two minutes then an OTS. The camera work on the scene he gets poisoned and dies isn't very framing and not following 'Rule of Thirds.' So we've decided to cut the scene where we poison him and change it to when he walks out of the door into the garden expecting to question/arrest us we've vanished, with the camera focusing on the knocked over drinks and the gate slamming, not only does this save us time but it's more of an OTS now as we can say the movie is going to be him trying to find us.
Sound for our OTS
Due to copyright law we're going to use 30 second extract of a few songs. Two songs we've chosen are by 'James Robert Belden.' He is an American saxophonist, arranger, composer, band leader and producer. One of his songs we're using, 'City of angles' is part of a Grammy award winning jazz orchestral recording titled 'The Black Dahlia.' We thought his songs fit in the the era of film noir. 'City of angles' is used in our intro as the arrangement is very dramatic but the tempo is slow to intertwine with an introduction. Secondly 'Before' by Bob Belden is a fairly up beat piece with a sense of caution foreshadowing the tension coming Thelma and Louise's way. For the runaway scene we've used 'Any day now' by Elbow. It slowly fades in which goes well with the realization from the detective that they've escaped. After he realizes the camera cuts to T+L running away where the music gets up tempo -fitting the ambience of a get away scene.

Story Board Planning
This is a rough planning for mine and bianca's storyboard, we came across some problems with our original planning, instead of filming all of our bar scene in a bar, for legal reasons we've had to change the majority of our filming will be done in my house because you can't smoke in pubs and clubs and to create a good film noir effect we will need to include this in our OTS.
